Johanna Talley
Market Site Manager

Johanna Talley moved to Talent in November. After living three years on Maui, she and her husband, Udi, three goats, and Wyley, their 12-year-old dog, all moved from Hawaii to southern Oregon to put down roots, both literally and figuratively.
Born and raised in the California hills between Sonoma and Napa counties, Johanna moved to Portland, Oregon and lived there for two years. From Portland she lived in Mexico; in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas; once again in Portland for six years and several years in northern Arizona.
With her love for animals, her desire to be a small farmer, and her longing for community, and despite the appeal of living on Maui, southern Oregon kept calling to her. In July 2018, she and Udi spent time exploring the area. They decided on a place to live, went back to Maui to pack, and prepared the goats and Wyley to fly across the Pacific. Arriving together at the Los Angeles airport, they all headed north to Talent.
Since arriving in November, Johanna has settled in, entered the University of Oregon Master Gardener program. Most recently she accepted the position of Market Manager with the Rogue Growers & Crafters Market. In addition to taking on responsibilities at the RV markets, her plans include developing a small farm-to-table enterprise, becoming more involved in the local community, and simply enjoying the beauty of our area. “I feel like I’ve come home,” Talley said. “This is where I plan to stay and grow.”
